Make a Splash This Summer
The opening of the pool on Memorial Day weekend was a splashing success—and the fun will continue all summer long. Look for this exciting series of social events:
- Float Days. Bring your floats to the pool on alternating Sundays, 1 to 3 p.m. (June 11, June 25, July 16, July 30, Aug. 13 and Aug. 27).
- Movie Night. Watch a popular film with family and neighbors on Saturday, July 22.
- Adult Happy Hour. Enjoy good company and libations on Saturday, Aug. 12, 7:30-9:30 p.m.
- Movie Night. Return for another popular film on Saturday, Aug. 26.
Pool hours will be 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on school days, and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
Please note: Residents who are delinquent in fees owed to the homeowners association will be denied entry to the pool in June. During an initial grace period following pool opening, residents whose accounts are in arrears were alerted to this situation and directed to contact the management company.
Feedback on Pool Welcome
If you have suggestions on how to make the QOP pool more comfortable and inviting, please let The Management Group Associates know as soon as possible. You can email Community Manager Ruchita Patel at email@example.com. The management company would like to correct issues with the pool as they arise.
Clubhouse Improvements Continue
Chesapeake Irrigation and Lighting is expected to install an irrigation system in front of the clubhouse this week. Following installation, PGC Landscape will lay sod where needed around the clubhouse.
The Board is reviewing plans submitted by Amy Schwartz, interior designer, for the clubhouse social hall. These plans, as well as options for TVs for the social hall and fitness room, will be discussed at the June 13 Board meeting.
Board to Discuss Draft Design Guidelines
The QOP Board also will discuss the draft revised Design Guidelines at the June 13 meeting. Feedback submitted in writing by QOP homeowners last month will be considered. Please attend the Board meeting to contribute to this important discussion.
Orchard Ridge Drive Parking Spaces Construction Ongoing
The City of Gaithersburg Department of Public Works is constructing additional parking spaces along the east side of Orchard Ridge Drive, and work will continue for approximately four weeks. Part of this work will consist of the removal of portions of the grass strip between the curb and sidewalk as well as the trees within this area and the construction of the new parking spaces.
“No Parking” signs will be posted at least 48 hours in advance of the location of the construction activity. These signs will be marked with the dates and times of the parking restrictions. If you plan to be away from your home for any length of time during this period, please make arrangements to have your vehicles parked off the street.
Work will take place on weekdays between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Please check the City of Gaithersburg website for status updates. For additional information please contact the Department of Public Works.

Trash and Recycling
Trash is collected on Tuesday and Friday and must be placed in lidded trash cans. If left for collection in bags only, trash is ripped open by animals and strewn throughout the community. Continued use of bags may result in fines.
Recycling is picked up on Fridays. Containers with lids are now available from the City of Gaithersburg. Please contact the city at 301.258.6370 to have a lidded bin delivered and the old one picked up. Bulk pickup is usually the first Friday of the month. The next bulk pickup is Friday, June 2.
Please remember that trash cans and recycle bins must be stored out of sight on non-pickup days.
The City of Gaithersburg and Potomac Disposal (301.294.9700) both offer collection services for bulk items at no cost.
Cleaning up after dogs is the legal responsibility of every canine owner walking a dog in the community. Dogs are not permitted off-leash on common property in the City of Gaithersburg.
