So, what is the allure of another nail spa in Kentlands? Quite simply and importantly, healthy options explained owner Tina Cao. The new Allure Nails, which enjoyed a soft opening on Sunday, Jan. 6 at 724 Center Point Way in Kentlands Market Square, offers a system not found elsewhere in the state—Kinetics Solar Gel that has acrylic look and strength but is a chemical-free powder gel based on natural ingredients, Cao said.
The new salon can pair Kinetics with Big-5 FREE tips, also healthier with no formaldehyde, toluene, DBP, BHA or camphor. “Gels normally can’t take tips,” Cao said, “but Big-5 FREE can be used with gels.”
This pairing is perfect for clients with allergies, but Allure encourages all clients to try powder gel with Big-5 FREE tips. “Our products are healthy for the client and employee, too” Cao said.
Black, white and grey with pops of color, the new salon has a contemporary, luxurious design with a nail bar and manicure stations in its main room. Pedicure stations are located in a more private, secondary room.
Jessica Nguyen explained that health is the main focus of Allure pedicures as well. We mix our own products fresh, she said, and they are all natural. These include creams and scrubs in attractive scents like apple, lavender and lemon coconut.
Pedicure chairs are also heated massage chairs. The footbath is lined with a disposable cover, and pedicure tools are only used once to ensure safety, Cao said.
Allure Nails is Cao’s second nail spa in Kentlands. She opened the Kentlands Salon and Nail Bar, 273 Kentlands Boulevard, in May 2017. In addition to this, she owns and runs with her sister-in-law another nail salon in Frederick near Frederick Memorial Hospital.
Cao plans a grand opening celebration for Sunday, Jan. 27, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The first 30 customers will get a free pedicure. Then, Jan. 27 through Feb. 10, all services will be discounted 20 percent.
