Find Unique Gifts at Main Street Market

Through Dec. 23, drop by the Winter Farmers & Artists Market in the Pavilion at 301 Main St. on Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., for one-of-a-kind gifts. You’ll find knitted scarves, hats, blankets, throws, and shawls, hand-painted vases, oil paintings, acrylic and watercolor artwork, mosaics, blown glass art, books and journals, candles, jewelry, home décor, chalkboard serving trays, baby clothes and nursery décor.

Chanukah Wonderland Opens in Market Square

All are invited to Chanukah Wonderland, 640 Center Point Way, to participate in activities for the whole family. Beginning Dec. 3 and continuing through Dec. 17, you’ll find crafts and a moon bounce for children, story times for little ones, an adult wine and paint night, a Chanukah gift shop, family movie nights and more. Chanukah Fire Truck Parade Returns

Looked forward to year after year, the 2017 Chanukah Fire Truck Parade organized by Chabad of Upper Montgomery County departs from the Rockville Volunteer Fire Department (RVFD) Station 3 on Hungerford Drive at 6 p.m. on Dec. 13. The parade led by the RVFD Station 3 fire truck decorated with a 4-foot menorah, and including the fire chief’s car and a music van, will make stops in Fallsgrove, Potomac Glen, Washingtonian Woods, Chanukah Wonderland in Kentlands, and finally Chabad of Upper Montgomery County. At each stop, Rabbi Sholom Raichik will emcee a 10-minute show. Past performers have included acrobats and jugglers who work with fire. Children receive gift bags. Market Square Tree Lighting Planned

Kentlands Market Square merchants and Kimco Realty plan a Tree Lighting Ceremony on Market Square for Dec. 7, 6 to 7 p.m. Come out for refreshments, caroling with the Quince Orchard a cappella group and a visit from Santa!

Go Caroling and Enjoy a Free Holiday Concert

The Gaithersburg Chorus and Kentlands Children’s Chorus invite carolers of all ages to participate in a holiday sing-along through Kentlands and Lakelands on Saturday, Dec. 16, from 6 to 7 p.m. Caroling will end at the Arts Barn, 311 Kent Square Road, where everyone is invited to warm up with complimentary refreshments, followed by a free concert (reservations required) onstage at 7:30 p.m.

Carolers will meet at the Lakelands Clubhouse, 960 Main St., and serenade along Main Street, through the Kentlands and Lakelands neighborhoods. A free concert will take place at the Arts Barn at 7:30 p.m. Please reserve tickets here:
