Arts Barn Hosts Holiday Bazaar
Local artisans showcase handmade items just in time for holiday shopping. Don’t miss this fun Holiday Bazaar on Saturday, Nov. 30, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Crafts include greeting cards, leather accessories, jewelry, pottery, glass, textiles and gourd lanterns. You can also enjoy freshly baked pastries, cookies, cake pops and individual cakes by a local chef. Admission is free.
Kentlands Christmas Returns
The Kentlands Christmas syncopated light show returns for an eighth year to 202 Little Quarry Road and continues through the first weekend in January. It all starts with a lighting ceremony on Saturday, Nov. 30, 7 p.m. (rain date Sunday, Dec. 1). Hot chocolate and cookies will be served.
Don’t miss this beautiful holiday music and syncopated light show created by Mikel Draghici and family. The show runs 6 to 9:30 p.m. every evening and is free, but donations to a suicide prevention charity are appreciated. You’ll find a donations box out front.
Santa Visits Holiday Tree & Menorah Lighting
Santa and area businesses are getting together for Kentlands’ annual holiday treat—the tree and menorah lighting in Kentlands Market Square. Planned for Wednesday, Dec. 4, 4 to 8 p.m., the event features performances from the Gaithersburg Chorus and Quince Orchard Chorus, ornament making, hot cocoa and giveaways. The tree and menorah lighting will be at 6 p.m.
Mama Donuts Food Truck will be at the My Big Finds 4th Anniversary Sell-Abration and Open House, 215 Market St. W., from 4 to 8 p.m. that evening.
Holiday Market Planned
The Main Street Farmers and Artists Market hosts a Holiday Market Saturdays in Dec. From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Dec. 7, 14 and 21, holiday shoppers can find unique foods and handcrafted items. Among the offerings are baked goods and pastries, preserves, honey, locally distilled beverages, dog treats, jewelry and other handmade items. Fresh eggs, farm raised meats and seasonal vegetables are also available.
To add to the spirit of the season, each Holiday Market will have giveaway items for children, door prizes for adults, holiday music and photo opportunities with Santa (bring your own camera). The first 50 patrons at each holiday market will receive a specially branded reusable tote.
