LPMS PTSA 12th Annual Basketball Night Planned

Mark your calendars for March 9. This is when Lakelands Park Middle School (LPMS) student-formed teams take to the courts to raise money for LPMS and the Dolores C. Swoyer Scholarship Fund. RCES Spring Book Fair Begins March 2

The Rachel Carson Elementary School Spring Scholastic Paws for Books Book Fair begins with a bonus—a screening of “Despicable Me 3” on March 2, 6:30 p.m. Food and beverages will be available for sale. The Spring Book Fair continues through March 9.

Montgomery County National College Fair Coming

MCPS hosts this fair in partnership with the National Association for College Admission Counseling on Tuesday, April 10 at the Montgomery County Agricultural Center in Gaithersburg. Students and parents can talk to more than 250 admissions representatives from schools across the country and pick up brochures and other materials. For more information, visit Admission is free.

Mulch Madness Continues

Place your orders now. You’ll get ready for spring and support a great cause.

For the Quince Orchard High School Mulch Sale, which benefits the Athletic Department and several Bermuda grass field conversions, order your mulch by March 13. Brown and black shredded mulch is available. If you order 10 or more bags, you also get free delivery on March 17. Mulch spreading can be purchased for $4 per bag; this will be done on April 7 by members of the QO football team. For more information, visit

To support the Northwest High School Boosters, order brown or black shredded mulch by April 7 at Mulch pickup is on April 14 in the Northwest lower lot, and free delivery is offered on orders of 15 bags or more. Mulch spreading for an additional $3 per bag will be done by members of the Northwest football team on April 15. Proceeds from the mulch sale will support the purchase of new football equipment.
