Meet and Greet with New QO Principal Planned

The Quince Orchard Booster Club is planning a Meet and Greet Reception to welcome new Quince Orchard High Principal Elizabeth Thomas. The reception will be held on July 12, 6 to 8 p.m. at the Washingtonian Woods Clubhouse, 511 Midsummer Dr. Refreshments will be provided.

LPMS Students Excel at Summit

Eighteen Lakelands Park Middle School (LPMS) STEM club members in six teams attended the Invent the Future Challenge Summit at Magruder High School on May 20. The Stuck in the Box team (Matilda Goh, Sophia Lapp, Lynn Yambaye, Taylor Hausman) received Originality and Potential Impact Awards. The Pixels (Ethan Lopes, Logan Powell, Catherine Judge, Devon May) received a Judges’ Choice Award.

Forty middle schools and 97 teams participated in the Invent the Future Challenge Summit presented by Kid Museum and MCPS. Nearly 500 middle school students presented their answers to the question: What will you make to protect the planet?

MCPS Regional High School Summer School Program

The MCPS 2018 regional high school summer school program will occur at Northwest High School, Richard Montgomery High School, Kennedy High School, and Whitman High School. Session 1 runs from June 25 through July 13, and session 2 runs from July 17 through August 3.
