K9 Max Reaches End of Watch

Gaithersburg Police Department Officer Chad Eastman and Max, a Belgian Malinois, were a K9 team for eight-and-a-half years, working a variety of calls for service. Max was skilled at sniffing out drugs and tracking suspects in wooded areas. He was also well known throughout the community, visiting with residents during fundraisers and demonstrating his skills. He retired in 2015 and lived with Officer Eastman and his family. He passed away last week at the age of 12 and a half.
