LPMS Student Hit by Car

A Lakelands Park Middle School student was hit by a car on Nov. 10 at 7:52 a.m. at 1200 Main Street near the dropoff area.

Montgomery County Police Spokesman Dan Fritz said the student was evaluated by the school nurse and appeared to be okay.

The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and a report was filed, Fritz said. No citation was issued.

Vandalism in the Park

A Quince Orchard Park resident discovered on Nov. 11 that one of her car windows had been smashed open sometime during the night.

Gaithersburg police responded to the call in the 200 block of Winter Walk Drive and filed a report.

The car was parked on a section of Winter Walk Drive that has been without working street lights for months.

The owner of the car said she did not find anything stolen from her vehicle.

Kentlands Burglary and Vandalism Arrests

Gaithersburg police have arrested two 15-year-olds and charged them with burglary and six counts of destruction of property.

On Nov. 3, at 11:11 p.m. a burglary was reported in the 300 block of Beckwith Street in Kentlands.

The two suspects were described as teenagers wearing hoodies. When confronted by the homeowner, police said, the suspects fled on foot in an unknown direction.

Shortly after that, at 11:45 p.m., a vandalism incident was reported in the 500 block of Tschiffely Square Road. Police said a resident heard glass break and an alarm sound. Several moments later, a resident in the 400 block resident reported that two suspects had broken the side mirror to a vehicle that was parked on the street.

On Nov. 4, police said another vandalism incident was reported in the 100 block of Tschiffely Square Road around
8:15 p.m.

During the course of the investigation, officers located and charged two 15-year-old boys with the vandalisms and burglary. Officer Dan Lane said the suspects do not reside in Kentlands.
