PMA Musicians Spread Holiday Cheer

Pritchard Music Academy (PMA) musicians have been out and about, spreading holiday cheer. The first weekend in December saw Powerhouse Brass, Advanced Brass, Intermediate Ensemble and the Holiday Ensemble playing around the city. The 2016 Holiday Ensemble, made up of elementary students from eight different Montgomery County public schools, performed at the Washingtonian Center/RIO, and Powerhouse Brass regaled the crowd at the City of Gaithersburg’s 90th Jingle Jubilee. PMA musicians also performed at the Kentlands Giant, Asbury Methodist Village and the Children’s Inn at NIH. You can see them at the National Zoo’s ZooLights on Thursday, Dec. 15 and Sunday, Dec. 18, or on the National Christmas Tree stage on Saturday, Dec. 17.

SPAGnVOLA Opens Third Location

SPAGnVOLA Chocolatier opened a third location in D.C. at 2000 Pennsylvania Ave., NW. The Shops at 2000 Penn is located at Foggy Bottom near George Washington University, the World Bank, and the International Monetary Fund. A January 2017 grand opening is planned.

“This expansion will allow us the opportunity to serve millions of local and international tourists while offering greater exposure for our business organically,” said Eric Reid, SPAGnVOLA CEO and founder.

SPAGnVOLA’s original Kentlands boutique and factory, located at 360 Main St., opened in 2011, and a second location at National Harbor was added in 2013. SPAGnVOLA was recently named one of the Top 10: World’s BEST Chocolate Shops by National Geographic Traveler.

Paragon Offers Sensory-Friendly Screening

A sensory-friendly screening of “Sing” will be offered on Dec. 24, 10 a.m. at Paragon Kentlands Stadium 10. During the screening, lights will be on, sound is kept low, and movie-goers are free to move around the theater.
