Edible Arrangements Coming Soon

Kentlands Place will soon have a tasteful and tasty place to purchase healthy treats and gifts for practically any occasion. Edible Arrangements, offering fruit bouquets, gift baskets, and the new “Edible to Go” smoothies, froyo, and fresh fruit treats is coming soon to the former Sweet Frog location, 76 Market St., next door to Subway.

For franchise owners Khurram and Iram Shahzad, owning their own business is a dream come true. “This is a dream of ours coming to fruition, no pun intended,” Iram Shahzad said.

She and her husband chose the Kentlands Place location because “we’re local and we love this area. … Kentlands is really the centerpiece of the North Potomac area.” The family has lived in Gaithersburg for more than 30 years, almost 17 of these in the North Potomac area.

They chose Edible Arrangements, Iram Shahzad explained, because it’s a “healthy, beautiful business. … You need to believe in the product that you’re selling.” Their Kentlands Place store will feature a small sit-down area where customers can enjoy “a smoothie or small fruit arrangement on a hot summer’s day.”

The Shahzad’s three children have attended local public schools. Iram Shahzad said that as a local business, they’re very interested in supporting schools and charities.

The Shahzads hope for an end-of-July opening, but this is dependent on permits and construction.
