MBT Announces Celebrity Guest Mother Gingers

Leaders from the Montgomery County arts and education communities appear as celebrity guest Mother Gingers in the Metropolitan Ballet Theatre “Nutcracker,” beginning Dec. 1 at Montgomery College’s Robert E. Parilla Performing Arts Center. Look for Gazelle Hashemian, BlueFlower, arts supporter at Holton Arms (Dec. 1, 7:30 p.m.); Tony Spearman-Leach, director, Montgomery Community Media (Dec. 2, 12 p.m.); Michael J. Bobbitt, artistic director, Adventure Theatre-MTC (Dec. 2 & 9, 4 p.m.); Jacqueline Manger, CEO at New Wallet Inc. and Board of Directors, Adventure Theatre-MTC (Dec. 8, 7:30 p.m.); and Eliot Pfanstiehl, CEO, Strathmore (Dec. 10, 1 p.m.).

MBT’s “Nutcracker” is a long-running Montgomery County holiday tradition, but new this year is “The Nutcracker Suite.” Perfect for little ones ages 3 to 6, this shorter-length version of the holiday classic will be performed Dec. 16 and 17 in the MBT Black Box Studio Theater, 220 Perry Parkway, Gaithersburg. Powerhouse Performs at National Christmas Tree

Pritchard Music Academy’s honors brass quintet, Powerhouse Brass, performed in the pre-show for the 2017 National Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony. The Nov. 30 program featured the Beach Boys, Wynonna, The Texas Tenors and more.
