Kentlands Market Square Sketch Plan Open for Comments

The joint public hearing for Kentlands Market Square SK-7837-2018 was held Monday, April 16. A multi-phase long-term redevelopment proposal, the sketch plan envisions up to 1,200,000 square feet of commercial / non-residential uses and up to 1614 residential units on approximately 21 acres. Public testimony is still being accepted. Comments on this application may be mailed to: City of Gaithersburg Planning and Code Administration, 31 South Summit Ave. Gaithersburg, MD, 20877 or emailed to planning@gaithersburgmd.gov. The Planning Commission record closes at 5 p.m. on Friday, May 25, 2018 (39 days) with anticipated recommendation June 6, 2018. The Mayor & City Council record closes at 5 p.m. on Friday, June 22, 2018 (67 days) with anticipated Policy on Discussion July 16, 2018.

New Owner for Fitness Together Potomac

Lance Walker became the new owner of Fitness Together in the Shops at Potomac Valley last month. Walker joined Fitness Together in May 2014 and worked in studios in Potomac and Bethesda. Founders Rick and Robin Coe will continue operating the Bethesda studio, as well as a studio in Rhode Island. The Coes plan to open another franchise, Elements Therapeutic Massage, sometime soon.

Ranch Market 99 Opens

Asian-American supermarket chain 99 Ranch Market opened at 110 Odendhal Ave. on April 26. A ribbon-cutting ceremony featured a lion dance performance and surprise gifts. Established in 1984, the chain now has more than 47 stores.
