Yoyogi Sushi Opens at New Location
The popular neighborhood restaurant, Yoyogi Sushi, will open in its new location, 317 Main St., next week. A soft opening on Tuesday, June 19, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., will feature free small samples. A grand opening is planned for Wednesday, June 20.
All good things come to those who wait. Construction challenges have caused some delays in the opening of Kenaki Sushi Counter, 706 Center Point Way, according to co-owner Aki Ballogdajan. The restaurant anticipates a mid- to end-of-July opening.
Edible Donuts Debut in Kentlands
Just in time for National Donut Day on June 1, Edible Arrangements, 76 Market St., debuted Edible Donuts. According to co-owner Khurram Shahzad, the donuts are healthier than regular donuts because they are made of apple slices dipped in gourmet chocolate. “We have a lot of variety with semi-sweet chocolate dipped vs white chocolate dipped and with various sprinkles,” he noted.
Sounds of Summer in Kentlands

Pinky & Pepe’s Grape Escape, 223 Kentlands Boulevard, offers live music every Thursday and Friday night, starting at 7 p.m. You’ll hear Harry Traynham, Billy James, Brad Vaughn, Carly Harvey, Holly Montgomery, Andrew O’Day, Jacob Elder, Shyaer Parvez, Freddie Long, and the Liz Springer Duo.
Peppers Taco Bar in Kentlands Market Square will host Donuts for Dinner on July 13, 6 p.m. This local band features Mark Bleich, Joe Dito, Shannon Frank and Melissa Pritchard.
The Wine Harvest, 114 Market St., has live music every other Monday evening by Joseph Monasterial. And don’t miss the third Sundays of the month with The Outtakes. The Wine Harvest also offers free tastings every Thursday evening.

Beginning this month, all Giant Food locations will offer a variety of HelloFresh meal kits in-store in the deli sections. Meal kits include recipes like Chickpea Couscous, Paprika Chicken, Peppercorn Steak, Mediterranean Style Chicken, and Homestyle Meatloaf. Each meal kit contains pre-cut, pre-measured, and pre-washed ingredients and serves two people.
