Meeting Calendar

May 8—QOP Board of Directors Annual Meeting, QOP Clubhouse, 7 p.m.

Annual Meeting Rescheduled for May 8

Due to lack of a quorum on April 10, the Annual Meeting of the Quince Orchard Park Board has been rescheduled for Tuesday, May 8, 7 p.m. Two homeowners will be elected to serve on the Board of Directors. Board President Troy Kennedy and Board Vice President/Treasurer Victor Liau are running for re-election. Additional nominations may be made from the floor.

Home Inspection Reminders

Annual home inspections are underway. Here are a few ways to make the process go more smoothly.
Please take an objective look at your home and yard using QOP’s Home Inspection Checklist. You can find this on the website, www.quinceorchardpark.com, beneath the “ACC Information” tab.

If you receive a letter from The Management Group Associates (TMGA), please respond. You can tell us that the issue has been fixed; ask for more time to resolve the issue; dispute the issue, resulting in a reinspection; or request an appeal before the Board of Directors.

Please don’t put the letter aside without responding. Additional letters will be sent if TMGA doesn’t hear from you, and fines may be assessed after a period of time.

TMGA is happy to answer any questions. You can email TMGAInc@TMGAInc.com or call 301.948.6666.

Please Recommend Contractors

Were you pleased with work done on your home? If so, please recommend your contractor to your neighbors. Just go to the website, www.quinceorchardpark.com, and click on the “ACC Information” tab. You’ll see the sub-tab “Contractor Recommendations” that links to a recommendation form. Given the age of homes in the community, roofing contractor recommendations are especially needed.

You must be signed into the website to submit a contractor recommendation. This is to prevent contractors from listing themselves.

Time to Jump in

The QOP pool will open on Saturday, May 26. Are you ready? To use the pool, you need a 2018 pool pass.
If you have a barcoded pool pass from last summer and your information (emergency contacts, etc.) is still current, you don’t need to apply for a new pass. Your pool pass is automatically reactivated for the 2018 pool season.

Some QOP residents do need to submit a pool pass application.

  • You live in Quince Orchard Park but do not own your residence.
  • You were not previously issued a barcoded pool pass or have lost your pass.
  • You would like to add or remove an individual from your membership.
  • Your child is now five years of age and needs a pool pass.

If the above applies to you, please go to www.quinceorchardpark.com and download a pool pass application to complete and mail in to TMGA, 20440 Century Boulevard, Suite 100, Germantown, MD 20874. Please contact TMGA at PoolPasses@TMGAInc.com or 301.948.6666 x137 with questions.

Until school lets out for the summer, the pool will be open 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Sunday and holidays. Summer hours will be 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Sunday.

Keep Your Account Current

If you have a past due balance on your account, you won’t be allowed to use the pool. You can check the status of your account, pay your assessments, check on open violations and correspond with TMGA by signing into the website at www.quinceorchardpark.com.

Get Pumped for Summer

The next Corporate Fitness Works class in the QOP clubhouse fitness room on Saturday, May 12, 7 p.m., will address general fitness topics. Additional classes are planned.

  • Sunday, June 17—Strength training
  • Friday, July 20—General gym and fitness questions

All classes are free. For more details, visit the website at www.quinceorchardpark.com and click on the community calendar. The class size is limited, so you must register for each event that you plan to attend.

Let’s Keep the Fitness Room Fit

TMGA has received complaints of equipment being left out of place, trash and empty water bottles being left around the room, and equipment not being wiped down after use. Children have been observed slamming down the free weights and jumping on the treadmills and other equipment.

Please remember that children under the age of 18 are not permitted in the Fitness Room without an adult.

The Board is committed to preserving a safe, clean and enjoyable environment. Fitness Room users are encouraged to review “Fitness Room Rules & Regulations” posted in the Fitness Room and on the QOP website, www.quinceorchardpark.com. Please let the Board and TMGA know of any Fitness Room issues by filling out a complaint form, also found on the QOP website.

Sponsor an Event

Are you interested in partnering with Quince Orchard Park to sponsor one of the community’s popular events?

  • National Night Out (Aug. 7)

Quince Orchard Park will support advertising for the event and provide matching funding (up to a pre-specified amount for each event). Sponsors organize and are onsite during the event. If you are interested in a sponsorship opportunity, please contact Community Manager Alex Deering at adeering@tmgainc.com.

Management Mentions

Dispose of Trash and Recycling

Trash is collected on Tuesday and Friday and must be placed in lidded trash cans. If left for collection in bags only, trash is ripped open by animals and strewn throughout the community. Continued use of bags may result in fines.

Recycling is picked up on Fridays. Containers with lids are now available from the City of Gaithersburg. Please contact the city at 301.258.6370 to have a lidded bin delivered and the old one picked up.

Please remember that trash cans and recycle bins must be stored out of sight on non-pickup days.

The City of Gaithersburg offers bulk trash pickup (furniture, appliances, mattresses, etc.) on the first recycling day of the month. The next bulk trash pickup is Friday, May 4. The City of Gaithersburg and Potomac Disposal (301.294.9700) both offer collection services for bulk items at no cost.

Secure Your Recyclables

Did you know that you can request an 18-gallon recycle bin with a lid from the City of Gaithersburg? The city offers detachable lids for the 18-gallon bins. You can request one by emailing recycle@gaithersburgmd.gov, or calling the city’s Public Works at 301.258.6370.

According to Diane Archer, public works program coordinator, it is best to use a city-supplied recycling container. “Some residents prefer to use their own containers, but we cannot guarantee collection in alternate containers,” she noted.

If your recycling bin or 65-gallon cart is broken, visit www.gaithersburgmd.gov/services/recycling-and-bulk-pick-up/recycling-containers to request a new one.

Do Your Dog Duty

Cleaning up after dogs is the legal responsibility of every canine owner walking a dog in the community. Dogs are not permitted off-leash on common property in the City of Gaithersburg.
