More than 1500 runners and walkers are expected for the 24th Annual Kentlands/Lakelands 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, Sept. 2. The day’s events include the 5K and Kids’ Fun Runs, and a post-race Merchant Expo Festival and Awards Ceremony.

Races start and end on Main Street and Market Street East/West, between Market Street Plaza and the Courts of Devon, and finish on Main Street at Market Street East. The 5K Merchant Expo Festival and Awards Ceremony will take place on Market Square and surrounding streets.

To ensure the safety of all race participants, race streets will be closed to parking before and during the race, and car traffic will be restricted until 12 p.m. on Sept. 2. Cars left on the course after 1 a.m. on race day will be towed at the owner’s expense.

The race benefits the Kentlands Community Foundation, The Dolores C. Swoyer Summer Camp Scholarship Fund, The Dwelling Place and Maryland Senior Olympics. The race also serves as a qualifying event for the Maryland Senior Olympics. For more information, visit kentlandsfoundation.org.
