A bridging ceremony held at Urbana High School on June 10 marked the transition of 54 girls from their previous level within the Girl Scout hierarchy to their new level.

A bridging ceremony celebrates the ascension from one level to the next. Girl Scouts have five levels, determined by grade in school: Daisy (grades K-1), Brownie (grades 2-3),  Junior (grades 4-5), Cadette (grades 6-8), Senior (grades 9-10), and Ambassador (grades 11-12). During the ceremony, girls bridged at every level except from Cadette to Senior.

Scouts who bridged came from Centerville Elementary School, Green Valley Elementary School, Kemptown Elementary School, Urbana Elementary School, Linganore High School and Urbana High School.
