Many Ways to See Santa
Santa is making numerous appearances in our neighborhoods this holiday season. He will be visiting the Urbana Library Farmers Market special Holiday Market on Dec. 1, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. In addition to Santa, the Holiday Market will feature holiday fun, lunch or snacks, and shopping with local makers.
You can have breakfast with him at the Urbana Fire Hall on Dec. 8, 7:30 to 11 a.m. Tickets are $8 for adults, and $5 for kids ages 3 to 12. Remember to bring your own camera.
Or dine with Santa on Sunday, Dec. 8, 7 to 11 a.m. at the New Market Volunteer Fire Department. Tickets are $9 for adults, $7 for seniors over 55, and $5 for kids ages 5 to 10.
The New Market District Volunteer Fire Co. will once again hold its Santa Run Dec. 2 through 9. All Santa Runs begin at 6;30 p.m. and go no later than 8:30 p.m. on select nights. Santa visits the Windsor Knolls community on Tuesday, Dec. 17 and the Landsdale community on Thursday, Dec. 19. For a full schedule of stops, visit www.nmvfc15.org.
Urbana Food Bank Supports Families This Holiday Season
The Greater Urbana Area Food Bank will once again be providing Christmas gifts for those in need in the southeastern portion of the county. Trees with gift suggestion tags are located throughout the area at local churches, schools and businesses. Take a tag, buy the suggested gift, put it in a gift bag or wrap it and return it to the food bank or the location where you found the tag no later than Dec. 16.
