The Urbana Elementary School (UES) PTA is selling 300 bricks from the old UES school that educated community children from 1960 through 2018.

Purchasers can select one of three plaques to turn the brick into a keepsake, perfect for home or office.

Funds raised will go toward the PTA’s general fund that “pays for everything from classroom grants for teachers to the Fun Run and the Snowball, the outreach things,” explained Tammy Bailey, UES PTA programs and celebrations committee chair. At the end of the school year, the UES PTA plans to split remaining funds between its own organization and the new Sugarloaf Elementary PTA, to help that PTA get off to a good start.

Bricks are on sale now and will be available for pickup the week of Dec. 2. Bricks cost $32 with your choice of a commemorative plaque. Visit urbanapta.membershiptoolkit.com/ues-brick-sale to order.
