Public Meeting for PATH Set

A public scoping meeting to discuss the Potomac Appalachian Transmission Highline (PATH) is set for July 21, 4 – 8 p.m., at Tuscarora High School.

The National Parks Service, the U.S. Forest Service and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers are seeking public comment to help in the development an environmental impact statement regarding PATH.

The proposed PATH project would affect several national park systems units and a national forest. It would carry a price tag of $2.1 billion according to the most recent estimates by Allegeny Energy and American Electric Power, the companies that would erect the transmission line.
