Late December Opening for Manhattan Pizza

Manhattan Pizza is now open in the new retail strip near Giant. They serve more than just pizza with a varied menu of appetizers, pastas, salads, calzones, sandwiches, and subs. Better yet, they deliver!

Be sure to leave room for dessert. Manhattan Pizza’s Fantastick gelato popsicle bar comes in a variety of flavors, is dipped in milk, dark or white chocolate and covered in crunchy grains. Ingredients are 100 percent natural, and many are sourced from Italy.

Greene Turtle First Restaurant in New Retail Strip

The Greene Turtle Restaurant, a sports bar and grill franchise, celebrated its grand opening in October 2017 at its new Urbana location at 351 John Simmons St., Suite 101A. The very first Greene Turtle Restaurant opened in Ocean City, Maryland, in 1976 and the franchise now has 45 locations around the Mid-Atlantic area. It has a full bar and the menu is traditional American fare. Their mission is to serve their communities both inside and out, so they actively solicit fundraising events. Posh Bridal Growing With Success

Posh Bridal first opened its doors in Urbana in 2012 in the Live/Work townhomes, but their success has pushed them to look for ever larger spaces. They have just moved into their third and larger location above the new Verizon Store. Did you know that they also do prom dresses? They are constantly increasing their stock of dresses and encourage patrons to post their dresses to the store’s private Facebook group—this way, teens can see if anyone else is wearing the same dress to prom!

Massage Envy Coming in February

Massage Envy is a nationwide wellness franchise that has grown to a total of 1,206 locations in 49 states since the year 2002. Each location is independently owned and operated. They specialize in massage and skin care services and offer a customized total body stretch and chemical exfoliation. Look for them to open their doors in February 2018 in the new retail strip.

Monrovia’s The Dollar Is Independent Store

Open for a little more than three months, The Dollar in the Green Valley Shopping Center has “a little of everything” at discounted prices, owner Quan Lin said. This is a first store for the Monrovia resident, who noted that unlike the Dollar General chain of stores, his independent store offers better quality merchandise at different price points—but all at a healthy discount. From party supplies, including helium balloons, to craft supplies, toys, stationary, household items, beauty and health, baby needs, and small convenience foods, The Dollar offers a variety of items. It even sells milk.

The Find Consign Plans Ladies Night

Head to The Find Consign in the Green Valley Shopping Center on Feb. 8, 7 to 9 p.m., for Ladies Night. You’ll enjoy wine and sales on items that include clothing and accessories, home goods and furniture. Be sure to check out the jewelry and other items made by local artisans and crafters. ZYTO scans for essential oils will also be offered on Ladies Night. “This detects what your body needs,” said owner Cheryl Kibiloski.

Kibiloski is also a gemologist. She does jewelry repair and appraisal at The Find Consign, 11791 Fingerboard Road.

Smarty Pants Expands, Adds Summer Camp

Going 14 years’ strong, this September Smarty Pants Preschool moved into the original one-room schoolhouse in Ijamsville from its home-based Ijamsville location. Owner Shannon McKenzie said, “It has been an awesome move for Smarty Pants.”

Also new, Smarty Pants will be offering a preschool nature summer camp for the first time. Week-long, half-day camps— Naturally Creative, Nature Nuts, Sensory Scavenger Hunt, and Naturally Creative II—will run June 25 through Aug. 10.
