Goddard School Second Location Site Plan Approved
Urbana’s Goddard School will be expanding with a second location adjacent to Sugarloaf Elementary School. Site plan approval for the 11,063-square-foot center on the 2.1-acre site was granted by the Frederick County Planning Commission on Sept. 11. John and Jill Pelicano opened the Carriage Hill Drive Goddard School, which is next door to Centerville Elementary School, in January 2009.
PearlFection Dentistry Moving to Giant Shopping Center
After approximately 12 years in Knowledge Farms, located across MD 355 from Urbana High, PearlFection Dentistry is moving into the former Kopit Dental Care space next door to Giant on Sugarloaf Parkway. The practice anticipates a mid- to late-October move-in, according to General Manager Stewart Stringer.
Eleven doctors—including a periodontist, orthodontist, oral surgeon, endodontist, pediatric dentist, and restorative and cosmetic dentists—offer almost comprehensive dentistry that includes emergency care. A number of the doctors have strong ties to Walter Reed, Stringer said, and are leaders in their fields.
The Green K9 Plans October Opening
Marni Lewis, owner, said that she anticipates a mid-October opening for The Green K9. Located at the Urban Green Apartments, the 4,330-square-foot luxury pet resort will offer daycare for dogs 40 pounds and under, events like dog birthday parties and Yappy Hours on the Urban Green patio, grooming and self-wash stations, and a healthy pet market and outfitter.

Art & Soul Debuts Creative Spaces
The Urbana Art & Soul Studio, 2510 Urbana Pike, Suite 104 in Ijamsville (near Long Fence), will introduce Creative Spaces, a special shopping event, on Oct. 18, 19 and 20.
